How to Tape a Skinny Tumbler for Sublimation to Prevent White Spots

Knowing how to tape a skinny tumbler for sublimation with a mug press is important to get the best results! If you are getting white spots or ghosting when sublimating 20 oz tumblers it could be due to how you're wrapping the tumbler and taping.

Taping keeps the sublimation print tight around the skinny tumbler and it keeps air and wrinkles out which can cause ghosting and spotting specifically along the seam and at the top and bottom of the tumbler.

How to Print on Roland BN-20A and Cut on Silhouette CAMEO 4 Pro (Free Template)

If you are running a business using a Roland BN-20 or BN-20A you can of course print and cut with the 20" ecosolvent printer.

Most Roland BN-20 users will tell you, it's not a fast machine especially when printing. To speed up production on print and cuts however, you can pair the BN-20 or BN-20A with a cutting machine - including the relatively low-cost Silhouette CAMEO 4, Plus or Pro - all desktop cutting machines. This tutorial will explain how to print with Roland BN-20A and cut with the 24" Silhouette CAMEO Pro.

To make this as easy as possible, and avoid common issues due to set up errors, I have setup a Silhouette Studio print and cut template for use with the Roland BN-20A and CAMEO 4 Pro for you.

Unboxing Roland BN-20A: Initial Software and Machine Setup in 8 Steps

Setting up the Roland BN-20A for the first time is a several step process, but it's nothing to be overwhelmed about!

roland, print and cut, roland bn 20, silhouette 101, silhouette america blog

In this Roland BN-20A beginner tutorial I'll take you step by step to set up the 20" eco solvent print and cut machine including the machine, (optional) stand, software package, blade and material to get you ready for your first print and cut with the Roland BN-20A.

The Roland BN-20A is an eco solvent, desktop print and cut machine that will take any small vinyl business to the next level and open up expanded opportunities for Etsy sellers and their customers!  It's similar to the original Roland BN-20, but without the white and metallic ink options allowing a lower price point.

If you're coming from the crafting side where you're used to a Silhouette CAMEO machine the Roland will seem like a print and cut dream!  But before you can get to printing and cutting vinyl stickers on this 20" printer and cutter we need to get it all setup....and I would recommend devoting a few hours to a half day to do that.
