About Me

Hi! Thanks for stopping by Silhouette School...want to know more about the blogger who's been referred to the Silhouette guru time and time again?

Meet Melissa.
Melissa Viscount is the blogger behind Silhouette School blog, the creator of Silhouette U, and the author of 10 books on the Silhouette cutting machines.
A former TV news producer who found herself as a SAHM when her oldest child was born in 2008, Melissa started blogging in her free time. Four blogs later, Melissa's husband and now business partner, gave her her first Silhouette machine, a Silhouette Portrait.
Silhouette School was born.
Within months of launch in January 2014, Silhouette School became Melissa's flagship blog and has since been read by more than 20 million people around the world. Tens of thousands of Silhouette users on six continents read Melissa's free Silhouette tutorials, tips, tricks and troubleshooting help on Silhouette School daily.
Along with sharing daily Silhouette tutorials, Melissa has also written and self-published ten books as part of Ultimate Silhouette Guide series. The first book, the 160 page Ultimate Silhouette Guide, was published in March 2015 and sold more than 20,000 copies in paperback and digital formats. Seven of the 10 books are available in both digital and paperback format and are sold with Silhouette bundles on Amazon.

In June 2016, Melissa's high school prom date-turned-husband, Bob, left his career in Corporate America to join her full time on the blog – which had by then grown into a full business. Bob took over all of the business side of Silhouette School Inc., while Melissa continued on the creative side.

Together, they launched Silhouette U in October 2016. The membership website offers premium content and one on one help to its members more than 2300 members.

Melissa has been honored to be the keynote speaker at multiple craft and Silhouette conferences across the country including being invited back multiple times to the All Things Silhouette Conferences.

When she's not not blogging and crafting and running the business, Melissa I enjoy spending time with my family in Delaware.
