Cutting Cardstock with Silhouette CAMEO: Secrets and Cut Settings from the Pros!
Monday, September 5, 2016
I'm so excited that the queen of Silhouette Paper Crafts and Designs, Lori Whitlock is on the blog today! Lori's here to share her pro tips on cutting cardstock cleanly with Silhouette CAMEO and Portrait!
Hi everyone! I’m Lori Whitlock and I’m so excited that Melissa asked me to do a guest blog post for you all today. I’ve been designing for Silhouette for over 7 years now (since the beta version of the Design Store was around). If you’ve seen my work you know that I do a lot of card making and 3 D design so I am using my Silhouette to cut paper and card stock all the time.
With over 5400+ designs I would say I’ve practiced cutting paper A LOT. At some of the events that I attend I’m astounded at the number of people that I have met that have never tried to cut paper/card stock with their Silhouette.

Let me just tell you a little secret... it’s really not that
hard! So, let’s give it a try!
You should be able to get beautiful clean cuts from card stock or patterned paper. I’ve
taught several classes and find that Silhouette crafters can get frustrated trying to get clean cuts.
But, I’m here to tell you that if you get everything set up properly your Silhouette CAMEO or Portrait should
cut card stock just like butter. It might take a little practice, but I promise you can get it
figured out.

How to Add HTV to a Camera Strap (Guest Post by Olivia, 7)
Tuesday, May 17, 2016
For two and a half years my children have watched as my third baby, Silhouette School, has grown into this awesome thing. They reap many of the benefits...including a whole lot of shirts, a craft room they can find pretty much color vinyl in, and in the case of this Instax Mini 8 Camera and Heidi Swapp camera strap, some awesome blog conference swag!
So when my second grade daughter asked if we could add some HTV to the strap, I told her I'd be here to help if she needed me, but she's been around Silhouette stuff long to enough to know how to do it on her own! And then I threw out the idea that she write up a tutorial for the blog...she couldn't resist my offer! So here's Liv...

Adding Reactive Foils to a Silhouette Print and Cut: Tutorial & Free Cut File
Tuesday, February 9, 2016
If you've been following Silhouette School for any length of time, you know there's no shortage of ways to create with it. Today I'm so excited to have Pam from Get Silvered on the blog sharing an awesome way to take your print and cut projects up a notch by adding reactive foil!
Hi! I'm Pam from Get Silvered and today, I'm sharing a tutorial to create a Valentine's Day card using Print and Cut techniques embellished with Reactive Foil. Download the Silhouette Studio cutting file V3 version here or V2 version here so you can play along, or use the techniques with another design of your choice.
This project requires a laser printer or copier and a laminating machine. If these aren't available see the other suggestions at the end of the post. I also used Red Reactive foil.

I'm so thrilled Rachel Barnhart agreed to share her tricks with you because I certainly could not have said it better myself. Here's Rachel....
___________
I still can’t believe I’m here writing this tutorial for you (fan-girl moment!!!). I’ve been a reader of Melissa’s blogs since before Silhouette School even existed…I followed her on her old blog, Two It Yourself, and then we both happened to get Silhouette machines (she got her Portrait and I got a Cameo) at the same time and so *of course* I began following along when she started Silhouette School! I don’t have my own blog, but I make all kinds of things and have an Etsy shop, Little House Blue Door, where I sell my creations.

Does Press 'N Seal as Vinyl Transfer Tape Really Work? (Silhouette Tutorial & Review)
Tuesday, July 21, 2015
I was so excited when I got my snacker cup in the mail that I had ordered and I just couldn't wait to slap some vinyl on it. I was heartbroken when I realized I hadn't bought any more transfer tape after I ran out. Can you guess what my solution was? Glad Press'n Seal Wrap to the rescue (or so I hope!).
Accordion Fold Card Tutorial: It's Easy with Silhouette Studio!
Wednesday, July 8, 2015
Welcome to class Silhouette School students. My name is Kelly and Melissa has asked me to substitute teach for her today. I normally teach over at Simply Kelly Designs where I share Silhouette tutorials, crafty creations and my digital scrapbook designs.
My lesson plan for today is to show you how to design an accordion fold card in Silhouette Studio. I created a DAD accordion fold card for Father's Day but today I will show you how to design a MOM accordion fold card. I'm giving this card to my mom for her birthday.
One of the keys to creating a great word accordion fold card is to find the right font. I like to use a bold font where the letters are close to the same width. Check out this tutorial on my method to choose the perfect font every time.

Behind the Scenes at Silhouette School...eBooks, Vacations, Conferences, Growth, Oh MY!
Wednesday, June 10, 2015
Every few months I like to do a Silhouette School Behind the Scenes post just so you all know I'm not a robot pumping out tuts, but instead a working mom who's attempting to balance it all (some times better than others) and knows the struggle is real, but the rewards are amazing.
In past BTS posts, I've shared a day-in-the-life of this full time blogger/mom/chef/chauffeur/cheerleader/booboo kisser, I've warned you all to shield your eyes before taking you into the deep dark hole known as my home office and I've even opened up about some pretty personal stuff for why the ebook (The Ultimate Silhouette Guide) was delayed.
Today I'm back with another peek behind the scenes of Silhouette School. This time I'm interrupting the daily tutorials to share some exciting news and happenings both on the personal and professional levels.
