New 2024 Silhouette Product Announcements: Heat Press, CAMEO Pro, Studio V5: Everything to Know (Price, Features, Release Date-ish)

The new Silhouette heat press, 24" CAMEO Pro II, tools, Silhouette Studio V5, and a web-based software are coming! 

The official 2024 new product announcement was made at the Silhouette Summit this year. Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, I was unable to attend Summit this year - but fear not I still have lots of info on the big announcements including pricing, release dates and more so read on! 

Calling All Opiniated Silhouette Crafters!!!

Usually on Fridays we give away a free Silhouette design cut file, but this week we're taking a break from that to ask for your opinion.

In a couple of weeks I'll be headed to Salt Lake City to meet with the executive Silhouette America team.  Over the last six years since launching Silhouette School Blog I have been able to remain 100% independent which has always been soooo important to me. It allows me to really just call it like I see it.

Sometimes you're not happy with me for it ("Melissa we wanted you to push for a 24" Silhouette CAMEO Pro, not a 20" Pro!!).  Sometimes Silhouette's not happy with me ("Why did you say you don't like the 14.6" cutting mat for the 15" CAMEO Plus?"). And sometimes the retailers aren't too happy with me ("Fine. We'll risk not being first to ship and hold the 3mm Kraft Blade in the warehouse for several more days until you can figure it out and write up a tutorial to at least help people use it").

For the record, I am fine with not being Nutella and therefore not being able to make everyone happy.

Windows 10 1809 Update Impacting Some Silhouette CAMEO, Portrait Users

WARNING!!!  Windows users LISTEN UP!! There's a significant change in the recently released Windows operating system update. 

 

As of August 1, 2019 and with the release of Windows 10 1809, 1903 and above Microsoft no longer supports USB 1.0 connections via a USB 3.0 port. Sound like gibberish?

Silhouette Studio 64 bit MAC Compatibility Update

Update: If your computer has updated to macOS Catalina, here's what you need to do to stay compatible with Catalina update and Silhouette Studio 

If you're a MAC user and you have received a pop up warning about Silhouette Studio soon not being compatible with your iOS - I have an update for you.

The compatibility issue stems from software programs running on MAC needing to be 64-bit. Currently Silhouette Studio is 32 bit.
