9 New Silhouette Studio Features and Fixes in Newly Released V4.4!

It's been awhile since a new Silhouette Studio software release has landed us this many fixes and new features! 

The release notes for Silhouette Studio V4.4.819, now in Open Beta, are extensive so I wanted to highlight nine of the most important/best fixes and new features that will improve designing, printing, and the overall user experience. 

How to Turn Off Automatic Silhouette Studio Updates (and Why You Should)

It's likely that at some point when you launched Silhouette Studio you got a pop up box prompting you to update your Silhouette Studio software.

I'm warning you now: never click it! In fact, my suggestion is to turn those software update pop up prompts off completely so you don't accidentally click it.  This Silhouette tutorial will show you how..and explain why!

What Happened with Silhouette Studio Beta V4.2?

You may have noticed that Silhouette Studio V4.2 was available for Open Beta on the Silhouette America website and then suddenly disappeared.

You weren't seeing things...for the second time in as many weeks Silhouette America decided to remove the previously released open beta version of V4.2. But why?

Silhouette Studio V4.1 Available to Download...BUT Not So Fast

After less than two months in closed beta, Silhouette Studio V4.1 has been released in open beta which means anyone has access to the free Silhouette Studio update packed full of bells and whistles.

I'm all about V4.1. I think the new features in Silhouette Studio V4.1 are off the charts.  I think you're going to love it...when it's ready or at least semi-ready. Right now it's not ready (in my humble opinion) and I would strongly suggest you hold off on downloading it.

I also can't help but point this highly anticipated version of the software was released late Friday, as we go into a weekend when Silhouette America's customer support is closed.  Another reason to hold off.

It's so, so tempting though...and that's honestly my fear.

6 New Silhouette Studio V4 Features

As some of you have probably noticed Silhouette Studio V4 is available, but remains in open BETA. The good news is some of the promised new Silhouette Studio V4 features have started rolling out...and the better news is Silhouette America is taking to heart some of the changes those of us in the Beta program have been suggesting.

I thought I'd do another update on V4 while it's still in Beta since I get questions about it regularly. 
Alright so let's talk about the newest features in V4: object to path, trace by color and magnet trace, heat transfer vinyl mirroring prompts, and most recently: barcodes.

Silhouette Studio V4: 6 Reasons Not to Upgdate...Yet

As you probably know Silhouette Studio V4 is currently available to all users in Beta. So the question becomes...should I update to Silhouette Studio V4?

At this point, with the software still being tweaked, de-bugged, changed, and tested constantly I would not recommend Silhouette CAMEO or Portrait users take the free Silhouette Studio V4 upgrade. 

Silhouette Mobile App: First Impressions - The Good, Bad, and...the Beta

So if you follow me on Instagram you know I had (and still have) quite the frown over the fact that I have still not received a download link for the beta version of the Silhouette Mobile App.  I'm not even bitter.... because lucky for me - and you - I do have some awesome weekly contributors here at Silhouette School in Becky and Glenna, from My Paper Craze, and they did get the link and so these fine ladies are here to give us their first impressions on the Silhouette Studio Mobile App!

Now you guys know how I roll - I shoot it straight, avoid the sugar coat and call it like I see it. That's what I encouraged these ladies to do too because I want you to get an honest first impression!  Let's all keep in mind it's BETA!
