If you're having an issue with your hardware it's natural to think a firmware update will fix that. But if you go looking for a firmware update - you'll find it's not as simple as download and run it.
You can't download Silhouette firmware
Silhouette America stopped offering firmware as a separate download a few years back.Currently firmware updates and software updates are tied together.
Where to Find Firmware Updates
Let me show you exactly where to look to see if a firmware update is available.Open Silhouette Studio with your machine connected and go to the Send panel.
If a firmware update is available you'll have a prompt telling you to update it.
If you don't have a firmware update it will look like this - no firmware update message.
But what do you do if you feel like your machine is a little buggy and no firmware update is available?
Well.. you need to go find a version of the software that has a firmware update and download the software first.
But not every version of Silhouette Studio version includes a firmware update so it can feel like you're on a wild goose chase.
Here's the trick - go to the Silhouette America software page > Legacy > Release Notes and then click on Release Notes you can do a "Find" on the page to find software versions that include a firmware update. Install a version of the software that includes a firmware version that's AFTER the current version you currently have. That's about the easiest and fastest way to identify which software version to install to force an update.
