You do need Silhouette Studio Designer Edition or higher in order to import custom patterns. Read on for a quick step by step and video for how to add your own patterns.

To add seamless digital patterns or even photos to Silhouette Studio to fill a shape you want to start in the library.

Open the Patterns folder and then drag and drop the pattern in.

Return to the Design Area and open the Fill tool from the right sidebar. Scroll down and you'll see your customer pattern there.

It can now be used to fill a shape. Filling shapes with patterns allows you to scale, rotate and position the pattern exactly as you want it in Silhouette Studio.
