Remember, Silhouette Studio DE is a one time purchased upgrade so once you buy it and activate the key, you have it for life. So it's not like my time could have expired.
Fortunately, if the Silhouette gremlins come in and snag your DE for some weird reason and in some weird way - you can get it back.
The same method for re-activating Silhouette Studio Designer Edition applies to activating it for the first time. And good news - you don't have call or email or wait around for customer service to re-activate.
What you want to do is go to the Silhouette Design Store and log in. You must be logged into your account to do this. If you don't have an account, create one.
Along the top you'll see "Logged in as __your email address ___". Click that link. I blocked mine out here for obvious reasons :)
If you scroll down, towards the bottom you'll see where it lists your Silhouette Studio Keys.
This is where you are going to get your 16-digit key (I hid a portion of mine which is why it's not 16 digits, if you're wondering) if you are re-activating your Silhouette Studio Designer Edition. Select it and copy it to your clipboard. Now hold that thought.
New DE users, your key will be on the back of the Designer Edition upgrade card you purchased.
Both new and restoring users now need to open up the Silhouette Studio software program.
Click on the Help Menu along the top > Activate License Key.
Now you're (back) in
