How to Press HTV on a Baby Onesie

Adding HTV to a baby onesie can be challenging at times due to the thick seams, buttons and snaps.

In this post, we'll share how to press HTV onto a baby outfit so you are successful every time!

The added bulk on a baby onesie can interfere with applying the correct amount of pressure evenly onto the HTV so that it can adhere successfully.

What you need to help even out the surface of the onesie is a pressing pillow. If you do not have a pressing pillow, then you can try using a folded towel.

Place the pressing pillow inside the onesie.

One important thing to make sure is that the fabric is not being stretched or pulled with the pressing pillow inside it.

Use a size of pressing pillow that is big enough to accommodate the design and no larger - the smallest you can get away with.

You only want the HTV design area that is going to be pressed to be raised up by the pressing pillow underneath it. The area outside the design area including seams, buttons, zippers, snaps, etc. should "fall off" the side of the pressing pillow.

Before pressing with a heat press, make sure you check and adjust your heat press pressure with the pressing pillow in the press.

Get your design ready - we're using this adorable HTV design from the So Fontsy in the Sassy Tshirt Design Bundle.

  1. Could I use a Cricut Easypress mat in a regular heat press?
