The same goes for the pretty pink, coral, and teal heat presses that went on pre order back in February as well as the Sawgrass SG500 and SG1000 sublimation printers.
Today I'm sharing an update on all of them...as the pandemic has impacted manufacturing, production, and related travel.
New Pretty $199 Heat Press Update
I can confirm production at the factory making the $199 heat presses exclusively for Swing Design has been partially converted over to produce medical equipment in the fight against Covid 19.
While manufacturing continues, it has slowed the volume of production on the new entry level heat presses (which match the teal and pink CAMEO 3s)! That has pushed the release of those back several weeks and they are
now expected to start shipping around the end of May or early June.
Sawgrass SG500 and SG1000 Sublimation Printers
The new Sawgrass SG500 and SG1000 sublimation printers have also been delayed. As of now, Sawgrass confirms to Silhouette School retailers should begin receiving orders the second half of March to begin fulfilling SG500 and SG1000 machine and bundle pre orders and orders.
20" Silhouette CAMEO Pro Release Date
The 20" Silhouette CAMEO Pro which was announced in May 2019 as a 20" version of the Silhouette CAMEO 4 is also highly anticipated - and was previously confirmed for May or June 2020. As that timeframe is just about here, the questions about the release keep on coming and my inbox and comments are now constantly filled with "When will the CAMEO Pro be available?"While Silhouette America has not provided an official comment on an updated CAMEO Pro release, it's expected the pre order and release will be delayed until later in the summer - possibly as late as September.
Again, the anticipated delay of the CAMEO Pro being caused in large part by disruptions in manufacturing, production, and travel due to the worldwide pandemic.
I do not have a new 20" CAMEO Pro release date at this time, but I am working closely with Silhouette America and Silhouette retailers and will of course keep you updated on both the CAMEO Pro pre order and release. If you need a bigger Silhouette CAMEO in the meantime the 15" CAMEO Plus was released in January and is available now.
Depending on how long stay at home orders, travel bans, and disruptions to the manufacturing chains last due to the pandemic we could see further delays to these and other products.
