So...here's the thing. Prime Day deals move fast and they sell out, so I'm going to keep this quick and get you straight to the good stuff.
My best Prime Day hack (this is the one no one else is telling you)
Before we even get to the craft and business deals, I have to share this, because it works no matter WHAT you're buying.
Head to your Amazon account and go to Your Orders, then click Buy Again.
That pulls up everything you regularly purchase. Now switch the filter over to Amazon, and here's the magic: Amazon slaps a big red tag on the things you ALREADY buy that are currently a Prime Day deal.
That's it. You are literally just grabbing the stuff you reorder every month anyway - except now it's on sale.
For me that's body wash, face wash, hair stuff, the random taco seasoning my husband swears by (don't ask) - and all my craft consumables. Even if I don't need it THIS second, these are things I like to keep in stock, so when they're flagged as a deal, I add them to cart.
One tip: check back every couple of hours. New deals get added throughout Prime Day, so your Buy Again list will keep changing.
How I find the best deals for crafting and my small business
Okay, now for OUR kind of shopping. As I've done for years on Prime Day, I keep two lists going so you don't have to dig through the whole site yourself.
The watch list. This is the stuff I'm tracking - things that if they go on sale, I'd highly recommend grabbing. Some items on here already show "Prime Day deal," which means they're live right now and I just haven't had a chance to move them over yet.
The confirmed deals list. These are the deals that are definitely on sale right now. And I'll be honest - a lot of these are things I've personally bought, which is exactly why I'm telling you they're worth it. These are the ones you don't want to wait on.
A few deals worth highlighting this year
There were a couple of things on the list I hadn't seen go on sale before, so let me point those out:
Printers. There's a compact print and cut printer on the list that prints stickers AND photos right from an app on your phone. I have this one - I actually took it home from the office because my daughter got obsessed making her senior year scrapbook with it. She blew through cartridges and material packs, that's how much she used it. It's that easy.
The Epson ET-15000. This is the printer SO many people convert for sublimation, and it's a big discount right now. If you've been waiting to get into sublimation, this is the one to watch.
Heat presses and a sublimation oven. I found a few HTVRONT heat press deals, plus a sublimation oven - which is perfect for the stuff that won't fit in a flat press, like mugs and tumblers. You can do those in bulk.
Lasers and more equipment. There are a couple of laser deals on there too, so if a laser is on your wish list, check the confirmed deals.
Where I get my craft room furniture (I get asked this constantly)
Because my studio has a lot of equipment, I get asked all the time where I got my tables and furniture. Most of it is from Amazon, and a bunch of it is on sale for Prime Day.
I have two of the same long desks lined up next to each other along the wall so they work like one big continuous workspace. I love it. (It's not the FASTEST to put together, but it's not terrible either.)
I also have several adjustable workbenches in different configurations - one with stationary feet that adjusts up and down, one with wheels for rolling around, and one that even has an outlet built right into the side. I keep one of my Rolands on a rolling one because the lower shelf fits my materials perfectly - two 20-inch rolls fit side by side. For my printers I don't need to move, I use the stationary version so there's zero wobble.
A few smart-shopping tips before you add to cart
Check the price history. You can look up an item's price history to confirm whether it's actually a good deal or not. Don't just trust the percent-off badge.
Watch the "% claimed." If a deal shows a percentage claimed, that means it's limited - they may only have it at that price for a set number of units. Once those are gone, the deal is gone.
Search the Prime Day tab for specific things. If you're hunting for something particular, go to the Prime Day tab and search it - try "acrylic sheets," "vinyl sheets," "cardstock," whatever you need. You can even add a size to narrow it down to the exact deals that apply to you.
Use Prime Day to TRY a new brand. If you've been on the fence about a vinyl, HTV, or cardstock brand because you weren't sure about quality - this is the perfect low-risk time to test it. I saw 36 pieces of HTV for $16, which is a cheap way to find out if you like a brand without paying full price. Amazon shows the per-sheet price too, so it's easy to compare.
Everything I found that I think is worth your money is on those two lists. The watch list is what I'm tracking in case it drops, and the confirmed deals list is everything that's on sale right now. We don't know how long these prices will last or whether they'll sell out, so grab what you want sooner rather than later.
