If you're not storing your Silhouette files and designs in the Silhouette library any longer in favor of using the free Google Drive - now you might be wondering "How do I open them in Silhouette Studio?"
It's actually very easy and fast to open files that are not stored in the Silhouette library when you're ready to work with them.
This tutorial is part of a series so if you haven't read the first two parts of the series on creating a free Google Drive account or importing your Silhouette library into Google Drive, check out those first.
At this point you should have your folders, files and Silhouette designs in Google Drive. So how do you use them when you want to open them in Silhouette Studio?
Sign into Google Drive and navigate to your main Silhouette library folder.
Find the file you want to use. You can also use the search box in Google Drive to quickly locate your files.
Select the file or files you want to open in Silhouette Studio and click the download button so they download on your computer.
You can also right click > Download.
How to Open Files in Silhouette Studio
Launch Silhouette Studio and go to File > Merge. Navigate to the file you just downloaded. It will open in Silhouette Studio.
You can also drag and drop your files directly into the work area from the downloaded location.
That's it..that's all you have to do to open files that are not in your Silhouette library or cloud.
