5 Reasons to Try B-Flex Glitter HTV

I love glitter HTV as much as the next Silhouette crafter, but my biggest complaint is how thick and bulky it can be - especially on large, solid designs.

Well I think I may have just found the answer - a thin, layereable glitter heat transfer vinyl!!  After checking out my top five reasons for loving BFlex Glitter, I'm sure you'll want to try it too!

After getting my hands on the B Flex GIMME 5 heat transfer vinyl recently - and loving it - I decided to give the B-FLEX Glitter line a try. You guys...it's just as awesome as the B Flex matte, smooth heat transfer vinyl!!

1. BFlex Glitter is Thin

But the best thing about the BFlex Glitter is how thin in it is. It's 100 microns which probably doesn't mean much to you, but compare it to the glitter HTV you're probably used to using which is 325 microns. That's a big difference...so big you can actually see the difference in thickness.

Because the B-FLEX Glitter is so thin and smooth, it does not feel thick, bulky, or stiff on the surface.

2. You Can Layer BFlex Glitter!

Yup, unlike some more well known brands you can actually layer B-Flex Glitter on top of itself which saves design time (no more subtracting) and eliminates the worry about gaps from shrinking during pressing.

You could layer up to three layers of Glitter BFlex and it would still be thinner than a single layer of other brands like Siser.

3. It Cuts and Weeds Easily with Silhouette

BFlex Glitter cuts and weeds easily...even on extremely intricate designs. Look how small and detailed this design is! I found the best Silhouette cut settings for the B Flex Glitter to be blade 3, force 33, speed 3.

Weeding on a warmed up heat press helps make weeding even easier since the radiant heat loosen the HTV allowing it to pull off the carrier sheet easier.

4. Lower Pressing Temperature

This glitter heat transfer vinyl presses at 295 degrees (without a cover sheet) which is 25 degrees cooler than other popular glitter HTVs.  A lower pressing temperature means you can apply B-Flex Glitter HTV to surfaces that are sensitive to higher levels of heat.

5. Saves Time with a Faster Pressing Time

Finally, B-Flex Glitter only needs to be pressed for 10 seconds which is half of what you're probably used to.

That's a big time savings when you're working in volume AND it means the item you're applying the HTV to doesn't have to sustain the heat for nearly as long.

The only downside I see to BFlex Glitter is that it's only available in 10 colors and not very widely available. The good new is Direct Vinyl Supply carries all 10 glitter HTV colors - along with several other BFlex lines - so head over there and grab it!!

  1. Can the B-Flex be sublimated on like other white glitter htv?
