"Setup Incomplete" doesn't mean there's a problem with your machine or that the machine itself is not set up fully. The oddly-worded error actually means you haven't set up the material you want to use for - this session.
How to Clear the Setup Incomplete Message
It's not unusual for Roland Versaworks to have the printer status as "Incomplete Setup".To get past this error so you can start printing on your Roland BN2, you need to have Roland DG Connect Hub open and logged in. Inside the Hub, click "Setup" and select the material you're planning to use — HTV, vinyl, whatever you're loading into the printer. Once you select the material and load it, the status in VersaWorks will update.
What you're looking for is the status to change, in DG Connect Hub, to Output Possible — that's Roland's way of saying the printer is ready to go.
In Versaworks, the printer status will change to "Ready to Print".
If the BN2 Utility Is Still Grayed Out
A common companion issue to the Setup Incomplete message is the BN2 utility being grayed out and unclickable inside DG Connect Hub. This happens for a number of reasons including that the browser-based Roland DG Connect portal isn't open or isn't logged in.Head over to Silhouette U where I have a full Roland startup workflow - including the exact order to open everything and what to do when it's still not cooperating.
Silhouette U members also get exclusive access to the full Silhouette U video library, same day personalized support with me via live chat and email and a host of other perks that will save you time, money, and frustration!

Good to know this doesn’t actually mean something is wrong with the printer. The step about selecting the material in DG Connect Hub is easy to miss Space Waves
