To cut all colors of acrylic you need a CO2 laser - most are large and expensive. But now there's a new option - the 30W Flux Beamo Laser.
It's desktop size and under $1700 making it perfect for home crafters and small businesses who are short on space and budget.
What is the Flux Beamo?
The Flux Beamo is an entry-level 30 watt CO2 laser cutter and engraver. If you're not ready to jump up to the xTool P2s or another more commercial-grade laser, but you want the ability to easily cut acrylic, the Beamo is the most affordable CO2 laser.I keep mentioning acrylic and that's because a CO2 laser is needed to cut all colors of acrylic (including clear), but the Flux Beamo can also laser cut and engrave wood, leather and other materials.

It can also engrave stainless steel including mugs and tumblers with the optional rotary add on.
The BEAMO has a camera for easy alignment, has an optional rotary for cups and tumblers, and runs on Beam Studio which is compatible with both MAC and PC.
The Affordability Factor
Cost and size have been the biggest barrier for home crafters who want to cut acrylic. Many try to use diode laser and struggle through with messy edges, multiple passes, and limited color options simply because the CO2 lasers on the market are out of reach. The xTool P2s (I have - and love - the earlier model the xTool P2 55w CO2) is a 55w CO2 laser and the price starts around $4,000. You could get the Flux Beamo plus the air filter for far less than that.
What You Don't Get with the Flux Beamo
The Beamo's price is significantly lower than the xTool P2s, but it does have a smaller bed size and lower power laser. A 30w vs 55w CO2 laser means it will take slightly longer to cut or engrave because the laser isn't as powerful.
And while the footprint is smaller in the Beamo - a benefit for many home users - the size of the material that can fit in the laser bed is also smaller. This means, with the Flux Beamo laser, you're not able to make projects that are as large as you would be able to with a larger laser. The sheets of materials that will fit in the bed will have to be smaller. Don't worry though, it's not difficult to cut down sheets of acrylic at home so they fit in the Flux Beamo.
The small size may be a drawback for some, but if you have a small craft room or just a dining room table for crafting, the Flux Beamo makes CO2 laser engraving and cutting at home possible when it may not have been before. It's perfect for jewelry, keychains, bookmarks, small size, cake and cupcake toppers, ornaments and tumblers.
