If you have a laser engraver and cutter and you've got a bunch of scraps or sample pieces laying around - these are like gold.
Today I'm sharing five high- profit acrylic crafts you can sell for major profit. Read on for this secret laser business hack!
I've been working with Houston Acrylic for a few months now as So Fontsy has started carrying their amazing collection of acrylic, truflat wood and other laser engravable materials. They sent me a giant box of sample acrylic sheets and included were probably 100 2x2" acrylic sample squares.
Turns out these samples pieces, which are available around $2 each, are not only perfect for color matching, but you can make a killing with them making small items
Stud Earrings (My Favorite!)
My favorite way to use 2x2 acrylic samples is to make custom acrylic stud earrings, especially in gold mirror acrylic. If you size and nest the designs right you can make more than 10 pairs of earrings per 2x2 sheet.
Think about that for a second. If you sell each pair for $15-20, and you get 10 pairs from a $2 sample... that's $150-200 from two dollars worth of material!
Keychains & Backpack Tags
You can also make keychains and backpack tags from these 2x2 acrylic samples. The profits aren't quite as high as earrings, because one 2x2 sample piece is needed for each tag or keychain. But still a great high-margin item to add to the shop.UV printing on acrylic adds SO much value to these pieces and lets you create completely custom designs! You can also decorate with vinyl stickers or DTF transfers.
Safety Tags for Kids (GENIUS!)
Here's one you're going to love if you have littles. This is black glitter acrylic that says "Tap to call my mom."This is intended to go on a shoe or belt loop of your child when you're at an amusement park, the mall, a fair, pumpkin patch, airport - wherever your child might run off!
So if your child gets lost, they can quickly show whoever is helping them how to reach you. "hey, tap this, it says right on here, call my mom."
Pet Collar Tags
You can also make these for pet tags. Same concept - just attach it to the pet's collar with their name and your contact information.Mini Ornaments
I think everything is cuter in miniature! A 2x2" piece of acrylic may seem too small for an ornament, but I would call it the perfect little size.
I decorated these acrylic pieces with DTF transfers. My daughter is using on one of her keyring and a few others put on the tree because they're just too cute not too!
While I used 2x2" acrylic samples for each of these you can also use scrap pieces of acrylic. Acrylic is too expensive to waste even the smallest little bit. CO2 Lasers like the xTool P2s or Flux Beamo, that have cameras mounted on the laser module, make placement on small or odd shaped materials really easy and accurate and I much prefer it to a fish eye camera or framing.
