Best Stand for Roland BN2-20A or BN2-30 (And Why I Bought Two!)

Two years after purchasing it, it's time I answered some questions about the workbench I've been using as my Roland BN2 stand. I purchased this workbench with my own money in June 2023 and loved it so much, I bought a second one.

Now I'm teaming up with Polar Aurora for this sponsored post to answer your questions and tell you why it's been such a game changer for me. I'm sharing my affiliate links for you to grab it too - at the same great low price.

As you know there's no stand for the Roland BN2-20A and BN2-30 and any ol' table isn't going to work given the size, weight, and vibration of the printer itself when printing.

So when I set out to find a stand for my BN2 I really was just looking for something affordable with adjustable height (I need something I can put kind of low since I'm only 5') and heavy duty that it wouldn't be wobbling around - a challenging combination to find!

I searched online for a workbench both wide enough and long enough and found the Polar Aurora Heavy-Duty Workbench on Amazon.  It has a steel base and legs, solid feet and a wood top and a price tag under $150.

The extra shelf was a huge bonus since it would perfectly hold 20" Roland material rolls. I decided to take a chance on the stationary model (although there are options with caster wheels - I have that one too)..and OMG you guys it's been a honestly just perfect!

First off it's super easy and fast to put together. I put both these workbenches together single-handedly.

As I mentioned the height can be adjusted between 27.6" and 37.4". Because the BN2 is a taller machine and I'm short, I set the tabletop relatively low allowing me to easily reach and have full access to the BN2 when placed on top.

Why the Roland Printer NEEDS a Heavy-Duty Table

More importantly though the work bench is a solid and steady table that can accommodate up to 2000 lbs load capacity. The BN2 doesn't weigh nearly that (it's about 140 lbs), however the movement of the print head and cutter need a solid base that isn't going to be moving, vibrating, or swaying while it's printing and cutting.

Movement of the base or stand can lead to misaligned cuts and ghost or poor prints.  My experience has been very, very limited 'swaying' of the table while the Roland is printing and no issues at all with the quality of prints or cuts.

I have plenty of other desks, tables, and stands around my office and studio and none of them would be able to solidly support the BN2, while working, the way the Polar Aurora workbench has.

Real-World Testing: Two Years Later

I've been using this workbench for over two years now, and it's held up INCREDIBLY well. I've loved it so much that after about a year, when I needed another heavy duty workbench - I didn't even search for another option.

The second Polar Aurora workbench I purchased is the caster wheel model since I knew there was a possibility I'd need to move it's location occasionally.  (It's actually also come in handy as a pseudo-dolly at times when I need to move heavy equipment.)

While my original Polar Aurora workbench has always been used for my Roland BN2, the second one has seen a rotation of heavy duty machines. I first had my Epson F2100 DTF/DTG printer on it.

This printer was particularly challenging to find a stand for because of the size and position of the feet - but the 24" workbench was perfect!

At one point it also held my xTool P2 laser and currently it has my Roland BY-20 DTF printer.

Sizing Options for Different Needs

One thing I LOVE about this workbench is that it comes in multiple sizes and with different options
  • 48" width (what I have) - perfect for Roland BN-20 and similar desktop printers
  • 60" width - would work well for the 30" BN2-30 or multiple pieces of equipment.
If you're looking for maximum stability I'd go without wheels.

If you're looking for the ability to move the table from time to time, the wheels are a must and can be locked down when in position.

There are also models that include a power strip with 4 AC outlets and 2 USB ports.

The Bottom Line

This workbench has been a game changer for my Roland printer setup. The combination of heavy-duty construction, smart storage, and reasonable price makes it the PERFECT choice for print shops or home users who want a good looking workbench at a price that's not going to break the bank after spending several thousands on a printer!

If you're serious about your Roland printer (or any heavy equipment), don't cheap out on the table. Your print quality and workspace organization will thank you!
