Want your DTF transfers to stand out or just want a little extra..pop?
While DTF transfers can do a lot they can not compete with special effects HTV like puff, glitter, and other specialized finishes. But did you know you can combine the two for the best of both worlds?
I'm using Siser's Easy Puff Metallic HTV which I find works best when it's applied directly to the garment as opposed to over the transfer (or other HTV). For this reason make sure your design and transfer are set up in a way that they leave room for the puff HTV.
When you're ready to apply, start by warming your heat press up to the temperature needed for the DTF transfers - most likely around 305 for about 10 seconds.
Apply the DTF transfer and let it cool completely before peeling off the film.
While you're waiting for the transfer to cool so you can cold peel it, drop the temperature on your press to 280 degrees and set the pressure to medium. The timer should remain at 10 seconds.
How to Apply Puff HTV
Place the garment, in my case a canvas bag, back on the heat press and position the puff htv transfer in the opening space.
Peel off the cover sheet while it's warm.
Re-press for 7-10 seconds. Over pressing will shrivel up your puff HTV and it won't puff as much.
And that's it! Look at that pop.
And because it can sometimes be hard to capture in photos, here's a side by side of the HTV puff before it's pressed and after.
