Turning a Multi color SVG Design into a Single Color Design

With Silhouette Studio, you can quickly and easily turn your multi-layered, multi-colored SVG design into a single layered, single colored design. Whether you need to simplify the look of your project for a more professional finish or just want to do some personalization for a gift, making this conversion is easy and straightforward. 

Follow this guide to learn how to transform any complex multicolored design into its simpler variant in Silhouette Studio.

Start by opening the multi-color design of your choice. I chose a beautiful Flower design from the Home Grown Garden and Floral Bundle. You can get this bundle over at So Fontsy, it includes 270 designs for just $9.99!

Select every part of the design. 

 Once all parts of the multi color design is chosen you will click Object > 'Make Compound Path'.

As you can see in this photo that made all the paths of the design one unit and made it all one single color.

After you have created the compound path you will size the design for your project. Because of the orientation of mine I also rotated the design. I find making a box within the design area the size of my project space, helps me to size my design to the correct dimensions.

After that weed the extra vinyl off.

Use transfer tape to apply your design to the bucket.
